Plumber - Salford The University of Salford is looking to appoint a skilled and reliable Plumber to join its in-house Estates Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large, diverse university estate, helping to keep buildings safe, compliant and fully operational for staff, students and visitors. Estates & Facilities provides a comprehensive service across the University, covering maintenance, compliance, capital projects, cleaning, security and caretaking. The maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring the campus is safe, welcoming and fully functional every day. The Role As a qualified plumbing and heating professional with a strong practical background and a positive, customer-focused approach, you will carry out a wide range of planned preventative and reactive plumbing and heating works across the university estate, including teaching, research, residential and specialist facilities. . The role is varied, covering everything from routine inspections to fault finding and minor installation projects. You will be part of a professional in-house maintenance team consisting of plumbers, electricians and joiners and supported by handypersons, as and when necessary. Typical duties include: Planned preventative maintenance of water and heating systems, including plantroom inspections, filter cleaning and replacement Reactive plumbing repairs and fault diagnosis across water, heating and drainage systems Minor installation works such as new water supplies, radiators and sanitaryware Supporting the management of water hygiene and legionella controls through safe maintenance practices Working independently or as part of a wider trades team, depending on the task Collaborating with electricians, joiners, handypersons and external contractors where required Participating in the trades out-of-hours emergency call-out rota All work must be undertaken in line with University procedures, st
