The Role
You'll support the delivery of client accounting work while building your technical knowledge and confidence.
Working as part of a team, you'll handle core bookkeeping and assist with accounts preparation. This role is focused on developing strong foundations, accuracy, and understanding how high-quality client service is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Process day to day bookkeeping, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately
- Prepare and submit VAT returns with support and review
- Maintain sales and purchase ledgers and perform basic reconciliations
- Assist with accounts preparation up to trial balance
- Support payment runs and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained
- Communicate with clients on routine queries, escalating where needed
- Maintain organised and accurate financial records in line with internal processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure work is delivered on time
- Actively build understanding of accounting principles, systems, and client requirements
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Educated to A-level (or equivalent) and hungry to learn
- Studying towards (or ready to begin) a professional accounting qualification
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Eager to learn and develop technical accounting knowledge
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks with guidance
- Confident communicator for straightforward client and team interactions
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to ask questions and take feedback
