Description:

About the Company Established in 2016, Belman is a multi-site precision engineering specialist with facilities in Milton Keynes and Birmingham. We deliver turnkey solutions for the design, manufacture and assembly of high-precision components and assemblies for the Motorsport, Aerospace and Automotive sectors. As a rapidly expanding business at the forefront of precision engineering, we are committed to delivering quality, innovation and operational excellence. What You Will Be Doing We are seeking an experienced and motivated CNC Turner to join our precision engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to work with advanced CNC turning technology, producing high-precision components while contributing as part of a collaborative and high-performing manufacturing team. Working within our modern machining environment, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and optimising CNC turning centres to manufacture complex components to exacting standards. You will play a key role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery across a range of prototype and low-volume production work. Key Responsibilities Set, operate, and optimise CNC turning centres, ensuring maximum machine performance and productivity. Manufacture high-precision components in line with engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer requirements. Support production schedules by working efficiently and effectively to meet delivery deadlines. Prove out prototype and new production components, providing feedback on tooling selection, cutting strategies, speeds, and feeds to optimise manufacturing processes. Ensure production control plans, quality procedures, and engineering standards are adhered to throughout the manufacturing process. Read, interpret, and work from detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation. Perform in-process inspections using a range of manual measuring equipment and gauges, ensuring components meet exacting quality standards and tight tolerances. Make tool offsets and machine adjustments as required to maintain dimensional accuracy and process stability. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues, working with colleagues to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency. Collaborate closely with Quality, Planning, Engineering, and Management teams to resolve technical challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational excellence projects. Maintain a safe, organised, and professional working environment in line with company health, safety, and quality standards, including adherence to ISO 9001 processes. What We Are Looking For Requirements Proven experience as a CNC Turner within a precision engineering environment. Strong experience setting and operating CNC lathes, ideally with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls. Experience machining prototype and low-volume, high-complexity components to tight tolerances. Good understanding of tooling, cutting data, workholding, and machining techniques for a variety of materials. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. Experience using a wide range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and other inspection tools. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and precision inspection methods. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve machining challenges. Self-motivated, reliable, and proactive, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong commitment to health, safety, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation. Desirable Experience with twin-spindle, twin-turret, or multi-axis CNC lathes. Familiarity with live tooling and mill-turn machining operations. Experience working within Motorsport, Formula One™, Automotive, Aerospace, or other high-precision manufacturing environments. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles. If you are a skilled CNC Turner looking to join a growing precision engineering business and play an important role in delivering world-class components for the Motorsport, Aerospace and Automotive sectors, we would like to hear from you.
