<p>The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for managing the sales and use tax, property tax and miscellaneous compliance functions, including filings, audits, account analysis, and research. The individual will gather information, provide support, use strong analytical skills to perform technical analysis of large volumes of data, moderately complex reporting and compliance. This will require coordination with external consultants and internal stakeholders to drive results. The position works closely with the Accounting teams on sales tax related projects.</p>

<p><b>Job Description</b></p> Manage team in the timely completion, filing and payment of monthly SUT, GST, HST, PST, VAT returns, annual reports, business licenses, and other indirect tax compliance filings.
Review workpapers from team inclusive of journal entries, tax payments, data submissions, reconciliations, and tax filings.
Review supporting journal entries and general ledger accounts reconciliations from team and ensure reconciling items are documented and resolved in a timely manner.
Coordinate all tax-free holiday activities between tax and operations to ensure compliance with state requirements.
Manage indirect tax audits with third-party advisors, including requests for data, preparation of schedules, gathering work papers and other supporting documentation.
Manage third-party advisors in the reporting and filing of Property Tax and oversee remittance/billing payments.
Oversee the handling of correspondence from taxing authorities and ensure responses are timely and accurate.
Partner the Deloitte to support the implementation of Thomson Reuters OneSource Indirect Tax Engine, including establishing new Engine driven review processes and procedures.
Maintain post implementation system taxability tables.
Identify sales tax variances and work with IT and accounting systems on system corrections.
Research and stay current of changes to tax laws and other compliance related requirements.
Research and resolve indirect tax related issues and inquires and provide timely Reponses.
<p><b>You are meant for this job if:</b></p> Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
Proficient use of SAP ECC, SAP S4 Hana, Excel, PowerApps 
8+ years’ experience in accounting or transaction tax
Indirect Tax Engine experience, preferably Thomson Reuters OneSource
Experience with sales/use tax audits
Knowledge of tax research databases such as CCH, RIA or TTR
Strong reconciliation, data manipulation, analytical and problem solving skills
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Able to work independently with good communication skills

                <description><![CDATA[<p>VSA's Rowanlea House Adult Service, situated on the Linn Moor Campus near Peterculter, provides an intensive housing support and care at home service for young adults with complex learning and behavioural difficulties and autism that focuses on the development of meaningful life skills and personal fulfilment.  </p>
            <p>VSA believe that young adults with complex needs should continue to learn after they leave formal education.  To that end, we engage our tenants in programmes aimed at developing personal, domestic and community skills.  Our dedicated and enthusiastic team of Support Workers (Life Skills Practitioners - Adult Service), provide the necessary support and care to ensure this happens, and we would be interested in hearing from you if you want to join our team.</p>
            <p>We are looking to recruit people that will both support and work with the adults within their home to help them to develop these life skills further, as well as expand their horizons. We also want people that can be innovative and help us to embed our approach in practice within this service. </p>
            <p>You will be expected to work on a rolling rota, which will include early, late shifts and weekend working (shifts are: 7.30am – 3.30pm and 2pm – 10.15pm)<br>

            It is important that you have experience of working with children/adults with autism, complex needs and behavioural challenges, as well as being confident in working alongside them and as part of a staff team.  We will however provide full training and support.</p>

<p>We're looking for civil, structural and/orgeotechnical engineers to join our team in various locations around the UK.</p>

<p>Locations: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired</p>

<p>Hours: 40 hours per week flexibility on hours available if desired</p>

<p>Salary: Starting from £50k per annum</p>

As part of our 100-strong team, you'll get to work on hundreds of projects across one of the most diverse and high-profile portfolios in the country, with access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline supporting complex construction and major infrastructure schemes from concept through to delivery.</p>

<p>Are you</p>

<p><br></p>

<ul><li><br></li><li>Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards?</li></ul>

<p><br></p><p>An Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with an equivalent level of experience?</p>

<ul><li><br></li><li>Enjoy applying first principles thinking to real-world construction challenges, combining a keen eye for detail with sound engineering judgement, a focus on safety, buildability, sustainability and a flair for innovation and creative problem-solving?</li></ul>

<p><br></p><p>Have experience of temporary works design and/or management, or other practical construction experience?</p>

<p><br></p><p>Have strong organisational and communication skills, and enjoy working as part of collaborative teams?</p>

<p>What will you be responsible for?</p>

<p><br></p>

<p>Leading the delivery of a broad range of construction engineering services, including some or all of: temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.</p>

<p>Main responsibilities</p>

<p><br></p>

<ul><li><br></li><li>Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes</li></ul>

<p><br></p><p>Acting as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery</p>

<p><br></p><p>Developing yourself, other individuals and the wider team, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems, enabling the business to adapt to current and future challenges.</p>
