We have an unmissable opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team in Bedford Companion Care. We are an RCVS accredited small animal practice with x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, haematology, biochemistry, dentistry, and isolation. We are accredited silver cat friendly and rabbit friendly clinic. We believe in a good work life balance and are happy to accommodate a flexible rota. We also have a visiting ophthalmologist and peripatetic surgeon for orthopaedic and advanced soft tissue surgeries. We are looking for an experienced vet who feels confident with routine surgical and medical cases and who enjoys building strong relationships with patients, clients and the wider team.
This is a full-time position working 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday & Friday - 9.5 hours) plus 1 in 4 Saturdays (9:00am - 5:00pm - 7.5 hours) but no OOH. Average weekly hours over a 4 week period are 30.4. Keen surgeons or interest in imagery would be advantageous.
You'll be joining a close knit, friendly and supportive team made up of 4.5 veterinary surgeons, 7 experienced nurses, 1 VCA, practice manager and an amazing client care team. The team holds a variety of interests from wellness through to exotics! We always encourage CPD and are happy to support study towards a Certificate. A keen interest in surgery or imaging would be welcomed but not essential.
Our Veterinary Partners have clinical freedom, and you will also have the support and benefits of working for the Vet Group. The team sees a wide variety of cat, dog, rabbit and exotic medical and surgical cases and offer 15-minute consults as standard.
The practice is bright, air-conditioned and is purpose built to leading industry standards with state-of-the-art equipment including digital X-ray, ultrasound and in-house laboratory facilities and offers benefits from free parking. Bedford is on the main train line to London, and within easy reach of lovely countryside views and walks, Woburn safari park and deer park and Milton Keynes for shopping.
