The role
Are you passionate about shaping the future of the energy transition through insightful analysis, strategic thinking and trusted partnerships? As Senior Manager, Investment Advisory, you'll play a highly visible role in helping SSE make some of its most significant investment decisions, supporting organic developments, acquisitions and strategic initiatives worth billions of pounds. Working closely with senior leaders, Executive Committees and Board-level stakeholders, you'll combine deep market expertise with commercial insight to provide independent advice that helps create long-term value, manage risk and support safe, sustainable growth. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of SSE while helping to develop a collaborative, high-performing team culture where safety, wellbeing and continuous learning are at the heart of everything we do.
You will
Provide trusted commercial advice and thought leadership on major investments, M&amp;A opportunities, capital allocation and strategic energy market developments.Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across SSE, influencing and supporting decision-making up to Executive and Board level.Lead complex economic, commercial and financial analysis, translating insights into clear recommendations that support safe and sustainable growth.Represent Investment Advisory within major project and transaction teams, helping shape commercial strategy and challenge assumptions constructively.Support the development of people, tools and ways of working that strengthen capability across the wider team.
You have
Extensive experience within power markets, energy economics, strategy, investment appraisal or project economics.A strong understanding of the GB and/or ISEM electricity markets, renewable energy policy and market dynamics.Proven experience applying commercial, economic and financial modelling to inform major investment decisions.The confidence to build trusted relationships and influence a wide range of stakeholders through clear, engaging communication.A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with a commitment to safety, knowledge sharing and developing others.

The Role
As our NIS Project Delivery Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering security and resilience initiatives that help protect SSE's critical infrastructure. Leading a team of NIS Physical Security Advisors, you'll work collaboratively across the business to ensure compliance with the Network and Information Systems (NIS) Regulations while creating a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and resilience.
Working at the intersection of physical security, regulatory compliance and project delivery, you'll bring people together to drive meaningful outcomes, build capability and ensure our infrastructure locations remain secure, resilient and prepared for the future.
You'll oversee the full project lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and engaging stakeholders through to implementation, assurance and benefit realisation, ensuring solutions meet both business needs and regulatory expectations.
You Will</p>

<p>Lead and coordinate the successful delivery of NIS-related projects and programmes, ensuring outcomes are aligned to business priorities, regulatory requirements and stakeholder needs.
Develop and maintain project plans, governance documentation, budgets and delivery schedules, creating clarity and structure for successful project execution.
Partner with colleagues across the business to deliver physical security and resilience improvements, ensuring alignment with Objective E, industry best practice and regulatory obligations.
Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, acting as a key point of contact and confidently communicating progress, risks and recommendations.
Proactively identify risks, dependencies and opportunities, working collaboratively with teams to develop effective solutions and mitigation plans.
Support strong project governance by overseeing budgets, performance measures and compliance requirements while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.
Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and contractors, fostering collaboration and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.</p>

<p>You Have</p>

<p>Experience leading complex projects or programmes and bringing diverse teams together to achieve successful outcomes.
A track record of delivering projects within physical security, cyber security, operational technology, utilities, critical infrastructure or similarly regulated environments.
Strong understanding of project management principles, governance frameworks and delivery methodologies.
Experience managing budgets, resources, risks and stakeholders while balancing competing priorities.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships and engage a wide range of audiences.
A collaborative and organised approach, with the confidence to navigate change and drive progress in a fast-paced environment.
Experience preparing reports, presenting insights and supporting decision-making at senior leadership level.</p>

<p>Desirable but Not Essential
We're keen to hear from individuals who bring transferable experience and a willingness to learn. You may also have:</p>

<p>Knowledge of the Network and Information Systems (NIS) Regulations.
Experience delivering physical security improvement programmes.
Experience within the energy sector or other critical national infrastructure environments.
Understanding of operational technology (OT), resilience and risk management principles.</p>

Training combines online learning, live classroom support and structured in-car coaching.
