Location: Galashiels

Firm: Leading Scottish Borders Firm

Salary: Competitive Salary

The Role

Buying or selling a home is rarely just a transaction for most people - it's a key moment that happens in our lives. And in a close-knit market like the Scottish Borders, reputation, trust and relationships carry real weight.

This firm has built its name on exactly that. Known locally for its approachable, down-to-earth style and consistently high standard of work, it has become a go-to for residential property across the region. With a steady flow of instructions and long-standing client relationships, the team is now looking to bring in an additional Solicitor to support its continued growth.

In this role, you’ll run your own caseload from the outset, handling a mix of transactions including sales, purchases, remortgages and new builds. You’ll be given the space to manage files in your own way, but always with the backing of an experienced team around you.

You’ll be trusted to take ownership, while still being part of a genuinely supportive and collaborative environment. Clients often return time and again, so there’s a real opportunity to build lasting relationships and become a familiar, trusted name in the local market.

As you settle in, there’s scope to broaden your role beyond fee-earning, whether that’s supporting junior colleagues, getting involved in business development or further embedding yourself in the local community.

Strong knowledge of Scottish conveyancing procedures
Excellent communication and client care skills
