Skilled CNC Machinists | Sheffield | Full Time | Competitive Salary

Our client is a leading forge master in the oil & gas industry and has recently acquired accreditations for the Nuclear and Aerospace industries. With 40 years’ experience in forging, they are specialists in creating bespoke products using open die methods.

They currently have some fantastic opportunities for skilled Machinists, who will be responsible for operating a variety of machine tools. The successful candidates will be working to production schedules, machining a variety of components and materials to specified tolerances.

Available Shift Patterns

Mornings and Nights – Alternating Weeks

  • Mornings: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm
  • Nights: Monday to Thursday, 8:00pm to 6:00am

Mornings and Afternoons – Alternating Weeks

  • Mornings: Monday to Friday, 5:45am to 1:45pm
  • Afternoons: Monday to Thursday, 1:45pm to 10:15pm, Friday, 1:45pm to 7:45pm

Permanent Afternoons

  • Monday to Thursday, 12:30pm to 9:00pm
  • Friday, 1:30pm to 7:30pm

The Role

  • Operate CNC machine tools to produce components to specification
  • Work predominantly on turning operations with some milling work
  • Set up and run Fanuc-controlled machines
  • Machine components to tight tolerances in line with production schedules
  • Ensure production documentation meets relevant quality standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy machine shop environment
  • Use measuring instruments such as micrometres and callipers to verify quality
  • Work in accordance with health and safety procedures at all times
  • Handle materials using overhead cranes and slinging/lifting equipment where required

What We’re Looking For

  • Proficient in CNC Machining
  • Experience working within a Machine Shop environment in the metals industry
  • Predominantly Turning with some Milling experience
  • Experience operating Fanuc controls
  • Experience ensuring production documentation conforms with relevant quality standards
  • Experience maintaining a safe and tidy work area
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Organised, methodical approach and take pride in their work
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometres and callipers
  • Overhead crane/slinging and lifting skills
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills
