We are looking for a confident and adaptable General Cover Teacher to work within a supportive secondary school environment in Southend-on-Sea. The role involves delivering pre-set lesson materials across a range of subjects during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), or experienced cover staff seeking flexible and varied classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-prepared lessons across multiple subjects and year groups Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Ensure students remain engaged, focused, and supported in their learning Provide feedback to teaching staff where required Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and expectations

About You

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable but not essential Strong classroom management and communication skills Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different subjects Passionate about supporting young people’s education Able to build rapport quickly with students and staff
